DAY ONE - July 30, 2007

THEY'RE HERE!

Seventeen participants ranging in age from 15-18 descended upon the Hiefer Ranch from twelve different states ready to use art to change the world! The afternoon and evening were filled with frisbee, ranch rules (can't get away from them), great food, fun and games before retiring to the luxurious Heifer Hilton.

TRAINING DAYZ

THIS JUST IN...

The Faithful 8 gathered at the infamous Casa Morrow in Little Rock for a 3-day retreat to prepare for HTP 2007. Our sources say there was much mayhem!

On or around 12:30 p.m., on or around July 26, 2007, the master of the revels, Teresa and her sidekick Latrelle arrived at Casa Morrow and were greeted by the beloved Mamma Morrow, a.k.a. Teresa's mom!

Not long after, the two were off to Heifer headquarters to scoop up the R-Trilling Lisa who thought it wise to borrow the backback of her beau who is 6'3"...Lisa is 5'6"...but not to worry, Teresa is 5'8" and Latrelle is, well, anyway, she helped.

And then there were three...

On or around 11:43 a.m., on or around July 27, 2007, Jim, Jeanette and Darrin Donte arrived stuffed in JP's car with luggage, sleeping bags and one boot. It appears Darrin Donte broke his foot and now wishes only to be referred to as, Donte.

Approximately one hour later, the lone Michael Frame arrived...alone.

And then there were seven...

Now the story turns to the mystical, magical and not always understandable power of theatre, the imagination, and a room full of people with bags full of miscellaneous costume pieces.

The eighth and final member of the team (Steve) flew in from VEGAS and was greeted by the Magnificent Seven, dressed to the Nines, to wait for the One. Much to his amazement, and to the amazement of the innocent bystanders, he was greeted by seven frivolously clad thespians with signs, shades, glitter and glam! We believe he was amused. That is what turning bright red means right? I am amused?

And then there were eight!

HTP 2007 - STAFF

Lisa Gallo hails from Seattle, Washington. She comes to us as a part of the Heifer family having created fundraising and volunteer opportunities for them in her home town. She is a theatre director and teacher who enjoys R-trilling, tongue rolling, trampoline jumping and we hear she offers a mean singing telegram!

Michael Frame is known for generous, warm hugs and combat body slams (not necessarily in that order). A recent graduate of the Performance program at the University of Memphis, this actor recently studied in Arezzo, Italy at the Accademia dell’Arte.

Jim Short returns to the madness of the HTP having been an artistic leader last summer. A current Rhodes College senior, Jim also studied in Arezzo, Italy at the Accademia dell’Arte. Not to be out-hugged by Michael, Jim has a great talent for physical theatre.

Jeanette C. Patrick (not to be confused with the rap artist Vitamin C) also returns for a second year as a teaching artist. She is a talented photographer and performer whose gift is drawing out the beauty in others which we think reflects the beauty of her soul.

Darren Donte Miller, a.k.a. Darren Donte, a.k.a. Donte Darren, a.k.a…well, we’re not sure who he is, but at any rate, he is a current student in the Performance program at the University of Memphis. This man of mystery has wowed audiences with his boyish charm and depth of maturity on stage. Be sure to ask him to perform his Isaac Hayes.

Here’s what we know about Steve Anderson. He’s coming to us freshly out of and fully certified (possibly certifiable) by the Society of American Fight Directors! We’ve also heard that he is one mean Shakespearean teacheractordirectorchoreographertextcoachartist. This fall, he will be embarking on an MFA in Directing in Chicago.

Teresa Morrow, reformed mime and Jack…oops! Excuse me, Jane, of all trades, has been known to sing and frolic in the world of make-believe and…well, in the real world too. A native of Little Rock, she has also cavorted in Memphis, Austin, the Berkshires and now out at the Ranch for her third year as Master of the Revels…otherwise known as, the Director.

And now to me fair reader. I am Bright. Latrelle Bright. That’s luh-tchrel. I am returning to the HTP as your faithful assistant director and madcap movement and image maker. I will begin my third and final year in the MFA Directing program at the University of Memphis in the fall but to tell you the truth, what really knocks my socks off is playing with like-minded folk in the realm of compressed creativity!
